The Khaled Khalifa Award for Novel Writing is a prestigious literary award dedicated to honoring the late Syrian novelist Khalid Khalifa.

Application Requirements for the Second Cycle of the Khaled Khalifa Award for Novel:

The second cycle is directed to all citizens of Arab countries.

  • The applicant must be submitting their first novel.
  • The applicant must hold an Arab country nationality.
  • The novel must be written in Arabic.
  • There are no age restrictions.
  • There are no residency restrictions.

Timeline:

  • Applications open on January 1, 2026.
  • Applications close on March 15, 2026.
  • The short-list will be announced in mid-July 2026.
  • The winner will be announced at the beginning of September 2026

Award Details:

  • The award includes a monetary prize for the winner and the publication of the winning novel with a well-known publishing house.
