Application Requirements for the First Cycle of the Khalid Khalifa Award for Novel:

The first cycle is directed at Syrians, with future cycles set to include citizens of Arab countries.

  • The applicant must be submitting their first novel.
  • The applicant must hold Syrian nationality (Syrian or Palestinian-Syrian) or have a Syrian mother.
  • There are no age restrictions.
  • There are no residency restrictions.

Timeline:

  • Applications open on January 1, 2025.
  • Applications close on March 15, 2025.
  • The winner will be announced in June 2025 (exact date to be determined).

Award Details:

  • The award includes a monetary prize for the winner, publication of the winning novel with a well-known publishing house, and the possibility of translation into other languages.
